Nina Martine Robinson is a mixed-media artist who began her creative journey as a child of two artists. Her mother taught her how to sew at the age of twelve and she still uses that sewing machine 40 years later. Active within the fine craft movement for many years, she has exhibited and sold to galleries and museum shops around the Twin Cities. Nina also works in fiber, making one-of-a-kind wear-able items and applies these techniques to her paintings.
Recently she returned to college to achieve her life long goal of getting a BA in Studio Art, focusing on mixed media paintings and paper vessels. Using stitching as a drawing technique and the ability to manipulate color through multiple layers of watercolor washes make her work vibrant and unique. She draws inspiration from visiting gardens- both from her travels and her own backyard. Her current collection explores the repetition of shapes and color within the varieties of Ornamental Kale and the Hosta plant.
