Join us Saturday, February 10th from 5-8p.m. for an opening reception to explore this collaborative photographic series. Using projection and multiple shots of motion, the images are created by projecting onto the models as they move. Each image is a combination of two images: One static shot and one Stoboscopic shot.
This project is a collaboration with Samantha Rei’s Fashion collection “Harmonic Convergence”. At its base, the photographic series explores the connection between arcane energy and the palpable world. Each image evokes a different element. The above image is air.
For this project Alex explored strong angles and movement coupled with the shape and texture of Samatha’s looks. The models were posed to internalize each particular element and were asked to move during the shot. The projections are meant to anchor the viewer before the moment of inertia; while the stroboscopic flash seeks to capture moments in that journey.
