Every Winter we struggle with dry skin, winter blues, and anxiously await for Spring. Winter is the best time for Henna Tattoos (see free designs above) as it is nourishing and moisturizing for the skin in addition to being a beautiful decoration that can last up to two weeks! You can pick up the natural kits usually from your local food co-op. Not comfortable designing on your own? You can arrange to set up a private party here at Showroom and have Jen design and apply tattoos for you and your friends! For more details call 612-345-7391.
A little more on Henna:
The name henna refers to the dye prepared from the plant and the art of temporary tattooing based on those dyes. Henna has been used since antiquity to dye skin, hair, and fingernails, as well as fabrics including silk, wool, and leather. The name is used in other skin and hair dyes, such as black henna and neutral henna, neither of which are derived from the henna plant (we do not recommend using these dyes as they can be toxic to the skin and cause allergic reactions, we only use natural plant henna).
Historically, henna was used for cosmetic purposes in the Roman Empire, Convivencia-period Iberia and Ancient Egypt, as well as other parts of North Africa, the Horn of Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, the Near East and South Asia. It was also popular among women in 19th-century Europe. Today, bridal henna nights remain an important tradition in many of these areas.
Hope this inspires some winter fun, Jen xo
