Quality makeup brushes are a great investment, but only if you take good care of them. Protect your investment (and your skin) by keeping your brushes clean. Here’s how:
- Run the brush under warm water.
- Place a dollop of shampoo in your hand.
- Rub the brush in the shampoo and lather. Avoid distorting the shape of the brush.
- Rinse thoroughly until there is no visible lather or makeup. (Repeat step 3 if necessary.)
- Blot dry and reshape.
- Lay flat to dry.

-It is important that you do not dry your brushes in an upright position, allowing water to run into the ferrule as it can loosen the glue that binds the bristles together.
-This technique will work on both synthetic and natural brushes.
-If you’re not using a conditioning shampoo, feel free to give them a cycle of conditioner, too. Remember, many quality brushes use real hair, so treat them like you do your own hair.
-Pin this to Pinterest so you do have to memorize these steps right now.
There you go, quick and easy! And remember, not only will cleaning your brushes protect your investment, but it will protect your skin, too!
